Lecture Title: Tumescent Design
Kahn will present a greatest hits timeline with meandering tangents on thoughts about objects
Misha Kahn was born in Duluth, Minnesota, and a BFA in furniture design from Rhode Island School of Design in 2011. He currently lives and works in New York, NY. His work exists at the intersection of design and sculpture, exploring a wide variety of media and scales from mouse to house. Kahn’s approach melds an array of processes, from casting, carving, welding, and weaving, to imaginative and singular modes of production. Kahn’s work has been exhibited internationally and is in the permanent collection of numerous museums and public collections; such as The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and the Corning Museum of Glass.
Sponsored by the 3D Design Department at Cranbrook Academy of Art. All lectures are free and held in deSalle Auditorium at Cranbrook Art Museum.
