Cranbrook Art Museum is thrilled to host the Cranbrook Kingswood Teen Art Council’s exhibition, Student ID, in Forum Gallery. The exhibition will be open during regular museum hours through June 2, 2022.
From the Teen Art Council –
As Cranbrook students, we are handed a new student ID on orientation day. This signifies the start of a new academic year; a fresh start for all students. This card contains our ID number, a barcode, a picture, a name and the title of the school. For the next year, we utilize the card for a numerous amount of tasks. However, at the end of the academic year, we give up that particular piece of plastic, receiving a new one next fall.
Each work exhibited in Student ID expresses the cyclic nature of identity, whether it’s presented more literally through a vast amount of circles or deals with a figurative introspective challenge.
Student ID showcases some of the Cranbrook Kingswood Upper School’smost talented artists.
