About the Festival:
The Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival’s 2025 season, Blueprints in Sound, explores the powerful relationship between musical structure and artistic design. This year’s theme draws inspiration from Ruth Adler Schnee—a trailblazing mid-century modern textile designer, Cranbrook alumna, and founding Festival board member—who was one of the first women to earn a Master of Fine Arts in Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Honoring her legacy and under the direction of Paul Watkins, the Festival presents extraordinary performances that weave together tradition, innovation, and the enduring artistry shared by music and design.
