Join us for artist-led workshops on select Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Each two-hour workshop will feature a different artmaking theme, drawing inspiration from artwork in our collection. All levels of artistic experience are welcome, as participants are encouraged to experiment with new materials and creative techniques.  

Select Thursdays from 5:30–7:30pm; select Saturdays from 10:30am-12:30pm, $25 per participant, intended for ages 16 and up. Pre-registration is required through our website. All materials are provided.

October 22, 24 – Polymer Projects
Polymer clay offers endless opportunities for creativity! You can choose which clay projects interest you most, including magnets, charms, mini bud vases, abstract photo frames, or a design of your own. 

November 5 – Block Weaving
This relaxing weaving technique focuses on colors and textures. Design a woven composition around a wooden block frame that is ready to hang.  

December 3, 5 – Anna Sui Accessories
Fashion Designer Anna Sui develops unique accessories for each of her collections. Drawing inspiration from decades of her work on view at the museum, create your own accessories using a variety of interesting mixed media materials. 

January 21, 23 – Repurposed Fabric Landscapes
Anna Sui’s fashion designs are a testament to the upcycling process, repurposing fabric to give textiles new life.  Design layered landscapes using discarded textiles paired with mixed media accents. 

February 4, 6 – Abstract Painting Books
Explore abstract painting with a focus on color and mark-making. Combine your paintings with book arts to create an accordion book with mixed media covers. 

March 4, 6 – Make It Mini
Diving into a miniature world helps change our creative perspectives! Make your own collection of mini objects to create a curated collection for display.   

April 15 – Charm School
This fun workshop will be nostalgic and inventive, perfect for bringing out your inner child! Refresh your childhood shrink art and beading techniques to create unique bag charms and key chains.
