SUMMARY:Adult ArtMaking Workshop: Basket Weaving Basics
DESCRIPTION:Join us for artist-led workshops on select Thursday evenings an
 d Saturday mornings. Each two-hour workshop will feature a different artma
 king theme\, drawing inspiration from artwork in our collection. All level
 s of artistic experience are welcome as participants are encouraged to exp
 eriment with new materials and creative techniques.  \n\nSelect Thursday
 s from 5:30–7:30pm\; select Saturdays from 10:30am-12:30pm. $25 per part
 icipant\, intended for ages 16 and up. Pre-registration is required throug
 h our website. All materials are provided.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nUpcoming Adult Ar
 tMaking Workshops:\n\nJune 6: Basket Weaving Baskets\nExplore guided baske
 t weaving techniques to create your own unique woven basket inspired by in
 credible weavers\, including the work of Dee Clements\, in Cranbrook Art M
 useum’s collection.\n\nJuly 9\, 11: Printmaking – Gel Plate Monotypes\
 nLayer textures and colors onto gel plates to create monoprints inspired b
 y the work of graphic designer Katherine McCoy.\n\nAugust 20\, 22: Poetic 
 Pastels\nInspired by Joan Mitchell’s abstract artworks in collaboration 
 with poems\, combine poignant poetry with visual expressions in pastels.\n
 \nSeptember 17\, 19: Design in Relief – Linocut Printmaking\nDesign\, ca
 rve\, and print your own bold linocut design. Inspired by designs in Cranb
 rook Art Museum’s collection\, experiment with relief printmaking using 
 rubber linocut and adding unique typography.
