Join us for artist-led workshops on select Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Each two-hour workshop will feature a different artmaking theme, drawing inspiration from artwork in our collection. All levels of artistic experience are welcome as participants are encouraged to experiment with new materials and creative techniques.  

Select Thursdays from 5:30–7:30pm; select Saturdays from 10:30am-12:30pm. $25 per participant, intended for ages 16 and up. Pre-registration is required through our website. All materials are provided.

July 11: Printmaking – Gel Plate Monotypes
Layer textures and colors onto gel plates to create monoprints inspired by the work of graphic designer Katherine McCoy.

August 20, 22: Poetic Pastels
Inspired by Joan Mitchell’s abstract artworks in collaboration with poems, combine poignant poetry with visual expressions in pastels.

September 17, 19: Design in Relief – Linocut Printmaking
Design, carve, and print your own bold linocut design. Inspired by designs in Cranbrook Art Museum’s collection, experiment with relief printmaking using rubber linocut and adding unique typography.
