DESCRIPTION:Family-friendly self-guided prompts and building activities wil
 l be open to visitors in the Cranbrook Art Museum Art Lab Saturday\, Jul 3
 1\, 2021 and Sunday\, August 1\, 2021 from 11am–3pm EST!\nThis weekend t
 here are two available activities:\n\n\n 	Create small\, memorial pouches 
 for The Healing Memorial project\, organized by the City of Detroit Office
  of Arts\, Culture and Entrepreneurship\, the Detroit Riverfront and Cranb
 rook Art Museum to recognize all that has been lost over the past year due
  to the COVID-19 pandemic.Conceived by artist (and Cranbrook Academy of Ar
 t alumna) Sonya Clark\, it is an interpretation of her Beaded Prayer exhib
 it\, which has traveled the world for more than a decade. All pouches crea
 ted will be collected and become part of a tapestry of memories to be disp
 layed at Detroit’s TCF Center in a permanent living memorial that will b
 e unveiled on Aug. 31.\n\nFunding for this project is made possible by the
  generous support of the Ford Fund\, TCF Bank\, the City of Detroit\, Detr
 oit Riverfront Conservancy and Cranbrook Art Museum.\n\n\n 	Design your ow
 n chair\, inspired by the works you can see in our current exhibition\, Wi
 th Eyes Opened: Cranbrook Academy of Art Since 1932.\n
