A Modernist Regime: The Contemporary Cuban Lens, features two complementary exhibitions. Marco Castillo: The Hands of the Collector is a solo exhibition featuring work by the artist and prolific collector of Cuban mid-century design that he initially started to amass while part of the artist collective Los Carpinteros (1992–2018). Cuba Dispersa (Cuba Dispersed) features six artists and designers responding to the current conditions in Cuba as a creative class living in exile outside the country.

This conversation, moderated by co-curators Laura Mott, Chief Curator, Cranbrook Art Museum and Abel González Fernández will include artists Marco Castillo and Hamlet Lavastida with an introduction by Andrew Ruys de Perez, Jeanne and Ralph Graham Curatorial Fellow.
