SUMMARY:ArtLab Afterschool: Clay Creations
DESCRIPTION:Drop in and get creative during open Art Lab Afterschool with r
 elaxing\, artist-led artmaking. Students can arrive at any time during the
  open hours period\, allowing at least an hour for the artmaking project.\
 n\nSelect Thursdays from 3:30-5:30pm for students in 3rd grade and up. Pre
 -registration is required\, $15 per student. Each participant under 13 mus
 t be accompanied to the museum by an adult. During the activity\, adults a
 re welcome to explore the rest of the museum.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nSeptember 18 
 – Clay Creations \nGet creative with clay as you build sculptures inspir
 ed by ceramics pioneers Maya Grotell and Toshiko Takaezu.\n\nOctober 23 
 – Portraits that Pop \nMake bright\, bold\, and colorful portraits like 
 Pop Artists Warhol and Lichtenstein using silk-screening techniques.\n\nNo
 vember 20 – Punk Art \nDive into the punk rock art scene to design mixed
  media art and zines like the artists in Destroy All Monsters!\n\nDecember
  11 – Light Up the Night \nExplore the varied ceramic work in our collec
 tion as inspiration to create glowing ceramic lanterns that light up your 
 world.
