SUMMARY:Art Lab Drop-in Activities
DESCRIPTION:Family-friendly self-guided prompts and building activities wil
 l be open to visitors in the Cranbrook Art Museum Art Lab on Saturdays and
  Sundays through September 19\, 2021.\n\nAvailable activities may include:
 \n\n\n 	Create small\, memorial pouches for The Healing Memorial project\,
  organized by the City of Detroit Office of Arts\, Culture and Entrepreneu
 rship\, the Detroit Riverfront and Cranbrook Art Museum to recognize all t
 hat has been lost over the past year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Conceiv
 ed by artist (and Cranbrook Academy of Art alumna) Sonya Clark\, it is an 
 interpretation of her Beaded Prayer exhibit\, which has traveled the world
  for more than a decade. All pouches created will be collected and become 
 part of a tapestry of memories to be displayed at Detroit’s TCF Center i
 n a permanent living memorial that was first unveiled on Aug. 31. A second
  round of pouches are being collected for the second phase of the installa
 tion in October. Funding for this project is made possible by the generous
  support of the Ford Fund\, TCF Bank\, the City of Detroit\, Detroit River
 front Conservancy and Cranbrook Art Museum.\n\n\n 	Design your own chair\,
  inspired by the works you can see in our current exhibition\, With Eyes O
 pened: Cranbrook Academy of Art Since 1932.\n
