 Cranbrook Art Museum’s galleries will be closed.\n\nKleinReid was founde
 d in Williamsburg\, Brooklyn\, in 1993 by James Klein and David Reid. A pi
 oneer in the ceramic design and maker movements\, the studio is widely cre
 dited with bringing an urban design aesthetic to American studio pottery\;
  merging timeless art pottery methods and time-honored industrial techniqu
 es.\n\nJames and David's work is included in the collections of museums an
 d institutions (Museum of Art and Design\, NY\, The White House\, Hungaria
 n University of Craft and Design\, New York Historical Society\, Museum of
  Contemporary Craft\, Portland\, OR) and private collectors. Their pieces 
 have been shown in gallery and museum exhibitions\, and retail in design a
 nd shelter stores and galleries worldwide. As designers\, they’ve create
 d collections for prestigious firms including Herman Miller\, Dansk\, Chel
 la\, and Room&amp\;Board.\n\nThey’ve been profiled in periodicals and ne
 wspapers (Wallpaper\, Architectural Digest\, Vogue Living\, Casa Vogue\, T
 ime\, Newsweek\, the NY Times\, San Francisco Chronicle) and on television
 . In 1999\, the duo approached one of its heroes\, design legend Eva Zeise
 l (then 93) with a proposal to collaborate. Their work together over the l
 ast twelve years of Ms. Zeisel’s life spawned a collection of over 20 de
 signs\, a treasured friendship\, and brought her iconic work to a new gene
 ration.\n\n
