Looking for a fun and creative family activity? Join us once a month on Saturdays for an interactive tour in the museum galleries or vault followed by an artist-led workshop.   

Select Saturdays from 1:30-3pm; $15 per participant, intended for families with children 4-16. Pre-registration is required through our website. All materials are provided.

June 6: Basket Weaving Basics
Explore guided basket weaving techniques to create your own unique woven basket inspired by incredible weavers, including the work of Dee Clements, in Cranbrook Art Museum’s collection.

July 11: Gel Plate Monotypes
Layer textures and colors onto gel plates to create monoprints inspired by the work of graphic designer Katherine McCoy.

August 22: Poetic Pastels
Inspired by Joan Mitchell’s abstract artworks in collaboration with poems, combine poignant poetry with visual expressions in pastels.
