Looking for a fun and creative family activity? Join us on the second Saturday of each month for an interactive tour in the museum or Collections Wing Plaza Vault followed by an artist-led workshop!
October 12: Pop Art! Explore Pop Art artists in our collection including Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol. We will create our own pop art silkscreen posters.
December 14: Detroit Design Studio, we will tour the galleries and create mixed media art inspired by the large-scale work of Charles McGee.
January 11: Dynamic ceramist Toshiko Takaezu will inspire our hand-building clay workshop.
February 8: Mindfulness and art, this workshop will focus on the artistic process of Neha Vedpathak and Agnes Martin to create our own mindful art.
March 8: Let’s make some noise with sound suit artist Nick Cave! Our workshop will be a mixed-media exploration of wearable art.
$15 per participant, intended for families with children 4-12, pre-registration is required.
