SUMMARY:Free Cyanotype Activity - Workin' Roots
DESCRIPTION:Cranbrook Art Museum will host a free cyanotype constellation-m
 aking activity based on the artwork Finding Freedom by Sonya Clark. Each
  participant will create their own constellation fabric square to bring h
 ome using the sun and seeds. Finding Freedom is on view at Cranbrook Ar
 t Museum until September 24\, 2023\, as part of the exhibition Sonya Cl
 ark: We Are Each Other.\n\nWorkin’ Roots is an urban community farm in t
 he Nolan neighborhood of Detroit. We currently occupy 2 previously vacant 
 lots. With the recent purchase of 4 additional lots\, we look forward to e
 xpanding our operations to serve our community at a greater capacity. Our 
 mission is to revitalize and reengage the community by reconnecting with t
 he earth through land stewardship\, food sovereignty\, and sustainability.
  Our goal is to inspire and educate others in creating a fulfilling lifest
 yle that fosters balance mentally\, physically\, emotionally\, and spiritu
 ally. \n\nPublic programs associated with Sonya Clark: We Are Each Other
  at Cranbrook Art Museum are supported by the Gilbert Family Foundation\
 , the Michigan Arts and Culture Council\, and the National Endowment for t
 he Arts.
