DESCRIPTION:Join us for a performance by the duo Dominant Hand inspired by 
 photo collages and CMYK compositions featured in the exhibition Carl Toth:
  Reordering Fictions within the gallery.   \n\nMaritza Figueroa-Garibay a
 nd Austin T. Richey are sound artists and music educators working in Detro
 it\, Michigan. Their current practice reclaims public spaces through commu
 nity-oriented DIY synthesizer-making workshops and site-specific\, histori
 cally and environmentally informed sound installations. This includes a re
 cent electro-acoustic opera at a historic Jewish bathhouse in Detroit’s 
 North End as well as digital collaborations with Bora Yoon\, Detroit Opera
 \, and Sō Percussion. \n\nSince 2020\, they have performed as Dominant H
 and\, an abrasive ambient duo that “sound the room” via homemade synth
 esizers. These synthesizers\, designed and modified to sound like large to
 m drums and bass drones\, are quasi-generative and create organismic rhyth
 ms from their primitive sequencers. We invite people to put themselves int
 o these sequences\, and in the process\, cultivate a deep listening enviro
 nment to retune the sonic senses. \n\nFree and open to the public\n\nThis
