Join us for the lecture “40 Years of Discoveries in Downtown Pontiac” by Gerhardt Knodel, artist and Director Emeritus of Cranbrook Academy of Art. Presented with the Oakland County Pioneer and Historical Society as part of their Oakland County 2020 Bicentennial Lecture Series, Knodel will discuss the 40 years he has spent in his downtown Pontiac studio.
Since 1980, his creative island has been the source of an extensive body of work produced for many of American’s top corporate environments, and more major international exhibitions around the world. Oakland County’s anniversary in 2020 presents the perfect time to reflect on the special relationship with Pontiac that has influenced him over the years.
The lecture will be held in deSalle Auditorium at Cranbrook Art Museum. Free and open to all.
