 es in Downtown Pontiac” by Gerhardt Knodel\, artist and Director Emeritu
 s of Cranbrook Academy of Art. Presented with the Oakland County Pioneer a
 nd Historical Society as part of their Oakland County 2020 Bicentennial Le
 cture Series\, Knodel will discuss the 40 years he has spent in his downto
 wn Pontiac studio.\n\nSince 1980\, his creative island has been the source
  of an extensive body of work produced for many of American’s top corpor
 ate environments\, and more major international exhibitions around the wor
 ld. Oakland County’s anniversary in 2020 presents the perfect time to re
 flect on the special relationship with Pontiac that has influenced him ove
 r the years.\n\nThe lecture will be held in deSalle Auditorium at Cranbroo
 k Art Museum. Free and open to all.
