DESCRIPTION:Lecture Title: Tumescent Design\n\nKahn will present a greates
 t hits timeline with meandering tangents on thoughts about objects \n\n 
 Misha Kahn was born in Duluth\, Minnesota\, and a BFA in furniture design 
 from Rhode Island School of Design in 2011. He currently lives and works i
 n New York\, NY. His work exists at the intersection of design and sculpt
 ure\, exploring a wide variety of media and scales from mouse to house. Ka
 hn's approach melds an array of processes\, from casting\, carving\, weldi
 ng\, and weaving\, to imaginative and singular modes of production. Kahn's
  work has been exhibited internationally and is in the permanent collectio
 n of numerous museums and public collections\; such as The Museum of Fine
  Arts\, Houston and the Corning Museum of Glass. \n\n \n\nSponsored b
 y the 3D Design Department at Cranbrook Academy of Art. All lectures are 
 free and held in deSalle Auditorium at Cranbrook Art Museum.
