D’Silva\, FAIA\, is a Ch icago-based architect and a Principal at Perkins&\;Will\, and has recen tly released the book Lost Danish Treasure\, which tells the tale of how a priceless watercolor of Danish Modern’s most iconic design\, the Chief tain Chair\, was rediscovered through the combined research efforts of a s mall group of collectors.\n\nD’Silva has been collecting and researching Danish Modern furniture since 2011. During the lecture\, he will review t he history of the Chieftain Chair and discuss how Finn Juhl\, one of Denma rk’s most celebrated architects\, evolved his furniture design in the 19 40s. He will present historical research and modern-day analysis\, rewriti ng the early history of the chair.
