In the fall of 2015, Gregory Wittkopp left Cranbrook Art Museum to become the full-time director of the Cranbrook Center for Collections and Research , a new entity within the Cranbrook community that centralizes Cranbrook’s 112-year story and offers intellectual engagement with its legacy through cultural properties, archives, and historic architecture. Wittkopp was replaced by Andrew Blauvelt, a 1988 graduate of the Art Academy’s design department who came to the Art Museum from the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, where he served as the Senior Curator of Design, Research, and Publishing.
