Family Days (Summer)
Family Day activities are free and invite visitors of all to explore and experience art and design with hands-on, minds-on activities. Family Day themes and serve as inspiration for artmaking, sculpture scavenger hunts, kid-friendly tours, and conversation. Explore the galleries through guided activities and get your hands messy with educators in the Art Lab. Imagine, build, and create at a variety of hands-on art-making stations.
New! Preschool Art Party (Fall and Winter)
Bring your emerging artists, 3-5 years old, to Cranbrook Art Museum on fourth Fridays for wildly creative activities. Museum spaces will be open early so our youngest visitors will have time to play in the lower-level galleries. Pre-registration is required.
New! Art Lab Afterschool (Fall through Spring)
Teens, 13 and up, are welcome to drop in and hang out during open Art Lab hours every Thursday afternoon with relaxing artist-led making. No registration is required.

Join us for artist-led workshops in the Art Lab on Second Saturdays. Begin with an interactive tour in the museum galleries or our collection vault followed by the workshop. Pre-registration is required.
Coming in 2025! Wainger Workshops on Upper Level (Winter and Spring)
Join us for artist-led workshops in Wainger Gallery on select Thursdays. Each two-hour workshop will feature a different artmaking theme, drawing inspiration from artwork in our collection.
School Programs & Field Trips
We offer a variety of K-12 educational programming. Tour our current exhibitions or visit the permanent art collection; schedule an artmaking workshop in the Art Lab, visit remotely, or bring our educators to you! We can customize a program to fit your needs.
Create Camps (Summer 2025 Registration Opens Early December 2024)
Spend your summer creating at CAM! Explore incredible works of art, performance, design, and play! Create Campers use design-thinking processes to explore contemporary art. Our camps introduce a variety of materials and concepts—evoking curiosity and honing critical thinking—while encouraging individual creativity and self-expression. We’re all about process, not product! Create Camps teach kids how to observe, interpret, and tap into their own creativity!
