Cranbrook Art Museum’s creative space for learning!
Art Lab offers programs for all ages; allowing visitors to make connections between their creations and ideas encountered in the museum. From engaging evening events to fun-filled Family Days, Art Lab is a hands-on, minds-on space to tap your creativity.
The Museum Makery is a space for adults to learn a new artmaking technique with artists and designers from the Cranbrook Academy of Art. From papermaking to pom-poms, each Makery explores a new skill, and is open to all experience levels! Each Thursday evening Makery is always changing so reserve a spot soon!

Drop-in to explore studio offerings through hands-on artmaking and self-guided observation activities in the museum. Teaching artists are on hand to provide instruction and materials. All activities are free for ArtMembers and with gallery admission. Children 12 and under are (always!) free!

Create and craft while enjoying a cocktail! The galleries are open late and there is adult artmaking in the Art Lab. (Kiddos are always welcome too!) Artmaking activities are free with gallery admission. Cash bar, music, and light snacks.
We offer a variety of K-12 educational programing. Come tour our rotating exhibitions or visit the permanent art collection; schedule an artmaking workshops in the Art Lab, or we can come to you!

Fourth Saturdays at 11am, Join Bloomfield Township librarians for storytime and self-guided observation activities in our current exhibitions! Content is geared toward children ages 4–7, but all ages are welcome with an adult!
